Target

AT&T

AT&T holds over $680 million in contracts with the Department of Homeland Security, providing communications infrastructure to ICE and Customs and Border Protection. A 10-year, $146 million DHS contract signed in March 2024 provides emergency telecommunications and was expanded to 5G networks in August 2024. ICE sole-sourced an additional $11 million contract to AT&T for data analytics and support services. These systems enable access to photographs, real-time audio and video feeds, and databases used in identification and apprehension operations.

Ways to take a stand

easy 2 pledged

I pledge to contact my representatives

Call your congressperson and demand oversight of DHS telecom contracts. Congressional pressure is one of the few levers on government procurement.

hard 1 pledged

I pledge to switch to another carrier

Port your number away from AT&T. Every lost subscriber weakens the business case for these government contracts.
